Women’s Africa Cup of Nations: Doris Boaduwaa on a hat-trick as Black Queens slay Malawi in friendly
Doris Boaduwaa bagged a hat-trick as Ghana came from behind to beat Malawi 3-1 on Saturday, 21 June 2025, in a pre-Women’s Africa Cup of Nations friendly.
The Scorchers took the lead at the Ziaida Complex after a quarter of an hour thanks to Tendai Sani.
But the Black Queens regrouped and were level after eight minutes when Boaduwaa scored from the spot after a handball in the box.
Just after the hour mark, Ghana raced into the lead courtesy another strike from the Boaduwaa.
Nine minutes away from full-time, Boaduwaa had the easiest task of slotting the ball in a gaping net after an unsuccessful attempt by the Malawi goalkeeper to clear the ball.
Ghana’s Group C opener will be against South Africa on July 7 2025 at Honor Stadium in Oujda.
They will then play Mali four days later before wrapping up with a clash against Tanzania on July 14 in Berkane.
The 2024 Women’s Africa will run from 5-26 July 2025 in Morocco.
