Former Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam has stated that the cancellation of the Betting Tax makes no sense.

The former finance minister made the statement speaking at a press conference following the presentation of the 2025 budget statement by the finance minister, Cassiel Ato Forson.

The former minister has refuted claims that the NPP imposed and collected betting taxes from Ghanaians.
According to him, “Betting tax that they said they have abolished, we never collected Betting Tax”.

He went on to add that “So to come and tell Ghanaians that you have abolished something that you have not implemented, is to deceive the people of Ghana.”
