Serie A: Pulisic says Milan derby win over Inter ‘sends strong title message’
Christian Pulisic believes AC Milan proved their title credentials after edging Inter 1-0 in the Derby della Madonnina, a result he says should “send a message to the rest of the league.”
The American winger struck the decisive second-half goal, while goalkeeper Mike Maignan delivered a masterclass with six crucial saves.
Pulisic admitted the victory carried major personal and collective weight, especially as he is still regaining full sharpness after a recent injury spell.
He framed the goal as a reward for resilience and an important confidence boost for the squad.

Pulisic: “It means everything”
“It means everything, honestly, just the result today,” Pulisic told CBS Sports. “I’m really happy to come back after some tough moments in the last month and help the team win.
“I think I can improve even more. I don’t feel 100 percent sharp after coming back, but it shows resilience. I worked really hard, and I’m happy a moment like today could come; it means a lot.”
e also praised Milan’s mentality, highlighting the team’s determination during the tense final 30 minutes as Inter pushed for an equaliser.
“Our team spirit is incredible”
“Just the way this team has suffered even when we’re up goals… the team’s will is incredible no matter what happens,” he said.
“We’ve gone down, we’ve come back, we’ve defended. We’ve seen games through and we feel confident.”
Milan sit two points behind Roma, and Pulisic stressed the need for consistency rather than obsessing over the table.
“We take it game by game. Big performances like this help a lot. It sends a message, but we have to keep going and find consistency.”
Maignan earns special praise
Pulisic reserved standout praise for Maignan, calling his performance “one of the best goalkeeper displays” of his career.
“Not just the penalty… he made big saves over and over again. It was an amazing performance.”
Milan now turn their attention to Lazio, facing them twice in quick succession, first in Serie A on November 29, and then in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 on December 4.
