Senegal is currently taking plans to build a cable car system to connect their Capital city, Dakar with Diamniadio.
The location is reported to be around a rapid developing urban center which is about 32 km southeast.

The project according to sources close to the government is part of the Emerging Senegal Plan (PSE) to address Dakar’s chronic traffic congestion.
It is also aimed to reduce pollution, and enhance sustainable transport options in the congested City.
The cable car will link key areas in Diamniadio, including the Regional Express Train (TER) station, complementing existing infrastructure like the TER and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

It’s designed to be 100% electric which is also aimed at promoting eco-friendly mobility.
The initiative involves agreements between the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Senegal’s Executive Council for Urban Transport in Dakar (CETUD).
