President Kurt Okraku and General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo participate in 2025 FIFA Executive Football Summit in Miami

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, and the General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, are representing Ghana at the 2025 FIFA Executive Football Summit currently underway in Miami, Florida.

Hosted at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside, the high-level summit has convened senior football officials from across the globe, including FIFA executives, leaders of the six continental confederations, and representatives from member associations , to engage in strategic discussions focused on shaping the future of world football.

The summit serves as a critical platform for collaborative dialogue, with a strong emphasis on the development of the game at every level. Key topics under discussion include the FIFA Connect Programme, the advancement of women’s football, and the planned expansion of the FIFA Women’s World Cup from 32 to 48 teams beginning with the 2031 tournament.

Delegates are also examining a range of developmental initiatives, including youth football strategies for both boys and girls, the upcoming FIFA Series 2026, and the FIFA Arena project, an ambitious plan to build 1,000 mini-pitches worldwide to enhance grassroots infrastructure and access to football facilities.

A highlight of the summit was a comprehensive session led by FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger, who presented on the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS). Wenger outlined strategic frameworks and upcoming programmes aimed at identifying and nurturing football talent across all regions, with a strong focus on creating equal opportunities and reducing the developmental gap between nations.

Interactive sessions formed a core part of the summit, providing Presidents and General Secretaries from various football associations the opportunity to exchange insights, share best practices, and contribute to FIFA’s long-term vision for the global game.

Ghana’s presence at the summit reinforces its ambition to remain at the forefront of development efforts and to align national initiatives with global best practices.
