Namibia has taken a giant step towards managing their own mining sector starting with a contract termination with the US.
The United States has been in agreement with Namibia to mine Oil and gas in the African country for some unknown number of years.
They have been operating in the country for years now but latest reports says it’s about to come to an end.
According to a report filed by African Hub, Namibia is contemplating on terminating the contract.
If terminated, Namibia will now have to find a way to mine their own oil and gas either locally or engaging other foreign company.
The African powerhouse is reported to have plans of venturing into a state-own mining operation ones the termination is completed.
