Malian government unveil plans to recruit 24,000 new personnel for national security as part of the 2025-2026 Government Action Plan.

The Malian government, led by Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga is making plans towards a mass recruitment in the country.

According to new reports, leaders of the country has outlined a plan to recruit 24,000 new personnel for national security.

The recruitment comes as part of the 2025-2026 Government Action Plan which was initiated just months ago.

Their plan includes recruiting 15,000 soldiers for the army and 9,000 internal security agents.

The initiative, backed by a $1.11 billion defense budget for 2025, involves constructing new military camps, acquiring advanced equipment, and intensifying nationwide patrols.

President Assimi Goïta’s strategy focuses on modernizing the military and establishing a national military industry this year, to address Mali’s ongoing Frānce backed security challenges.
