“Ignore Akpabio, he’s not being truthful” – Shehu tells Nigerians abroad over “Come Back Home” call
Human rights activist and public affairs commentator, Mahdi Shehu, has advised Nigerians in the diaspora to ignore Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s recent call to return home.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Shehu urged Nigerians living abroad not to be deceived by Akpabio’s words, insisting that the Senate President was not being truthful about the current state of the nation.
“Don’t Be Deceived,” Shehu Tells Nigerians Abroad
Shehu wrote: “NIGERIANS IN THE DIASPORA, DONT BE DECEIVED: IGNORE AKPABIO. HE IS NOT BEING TRUTHFUL.”
He pointed out that 139 million Nigerians are facing hunger, 60 million youths are unemployed, and over 30 million children are suffering from severe malnutrition.
According to him, the nation’s debt stock now stands at N170 trillion, warning that anyone returning home does so “at their own risk.”
