“I HOPE WE WIN AGAINST CHAD” – Black Stars Coach Otto Addo Sets Target for Crucial Qualifier

Ghana coach focuses on three points in N’Djamena clash as team trains in Accra before Thursday’s World Cup qualifier.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has emphasized the critical importance of securing victory against Chad in Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier this Thursday.

The 47-year-old tactician expressed confidence in his team’s ability to claim all three points when they face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N’Djamena for Matchday 7 of the qualifiers.

“Our focus now is on the Chad game, and I hope we can secure a win,” Addo stated as the team prepared for their departure.The Black Stars are scheduled to hold final training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium today and tomorrow morning before departing for Chad Tuesday evening.

Following the away fixture, Ghana will return to host Mali in Matchday 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.

Ghana currently leads Group I with a perfect record of 15 points from six matches, maintaining a strong position in their quest for a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance. The team remains three points ahead of Comoros and five points clear of Madagascar in the group standings.

The Black Stars will conclude their qualifying campaign against the Central African Republic and Comoros in October, with these upcoming matches against Chad and Mali seen as crucial steps toward securing qualification.
