Former Ghana international Stephen Appiah is optimistic about Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite a tough run in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, the team has bounced back with impressive wins over Chad and Madagascar in the World Cup qualifying series.
Appiah expressed his confidence in the team’s abilities, saying, “For what I saw against Chad and Madagascar and the friendlies, the Unity Cup that we played in the UK against Nigeria and Trinidad, it has given me a lot of hope.”
He praised the new players who have joined the team, saying they have shown themselves well. With four games left to play, Appiah believes Ghana has a good chance of qualifying for the World Cup.
Ghana will reassemble in September for crucial World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali. Appiah’s optimism is likely to be put to the test as the team battles for a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
