Air India confirmed 242 passengers and crew members were on board in the tragic plane crash

A Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, belonging to Air India has crashed shortly after takeoff in a tragic accident.

The flight which took off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport was heading towards London Gatwick.

A communicue from the airline confirmed that the was carrying 242 people consisting of 230 passengers and 12 crew members.

The Total number includes 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian, and 7 Portuguese nationals.

The crash occurred in Meghani Nagar, a residential area which had a severe impact on a medical college hostel.

The incident has resulted in significant casualties, including at least five students on the medical hotel ground.
