Tottenham confirm Udogie was threatened with gun by agent
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Italy international Destiny Udogie was the Premier League player allegedly threatened with a firearm by a football agent in September.
Reports first surfaced via The Athletic that a top-flight player had been targeted on September 6, with London’s Metropolitan Police later confirming the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect in connection with the incident.
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb subsequently identified Udogie as the victim, prompting Spurs to release an official statement.
Tottenham pledge ongoing support
“We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so,” Tottenham said. “Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment any further.”

According to police, officers were called at 11:14 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, to reports that “a man in his 20s had been threatened with a firearm.” It later emerged that another man in his 20s had also allegedly been blackmailed and threatened by the same individual.
The 31-year-old suspect was arrested on September 8 on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent, blackmail, and driving without a licence. He has since been released on bail pending further investigation.
Dispute with agent allegedly sparked threat
Tutttomercatoweb reported that the man who allegedly threatened Udogie was a football agent angered by the player’s decision to reject him.
Udogie, who turns 23 later this month, joined Tottenham in 2023 following an €18 million transfer from Udinese.
A product of Hellas Verona’s youth academy, he has since earned 12 caps for Italy and made 75 appearances for Spurs, contributing two goals and four assists.
The left-back played a key role in Tottenham’s Europa League triumph last season and remains an integral part of Thomas Frank’s squad despite the off-field ordeal.
