Eden Hazard inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame, Mourinho pays tribute
Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has officially been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, becoming the 26th player to receive the prestigious honour.
The Belgian joins an elite group of Chelsea icons, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, Petr Čech, and Ashley Cole, who have all earned a place among English football’s immortals.
Hazard spent seven stellar years at Stamford Bridge between 2012 and 2019, amassing 245 Premier League appearances, 85 goals, and 54 assists.
During that time, he won two league titles and was named the Premier League’s Player of the Season for the 2014/15 campaign, where he spearheaded José Mourinho’s title-winning side with 14 goals and 10 assists. He was equally influential under Antonio Conte in the 2016/17 season, netting 16 times as Chelsea reclaimed the Premier League crown.

His flair, consistency, and decisive performances cemented his status as one of the most gifted wingers of the modern era.
Hazard reflects on his honour
Reacting to his induction, the 34-year-old expressed gratitude and humility:

“For a small Belgian guy from Braine-le-Comte just playing football for fun, being inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame with these great players at 34 years old is incredible. My dream was to play at the highest level and I did it, so I am really happy.”
He continued, “When you score goals, when you win trophies, you just want more. I am proud to know I did a few good things for seven years in the Premier League.
“We don’t play the game alone, this is for all the people who supported me: my family, teammates, fans, and friends.”
Mourinho’s emotional tribute
José Mourinho, who managed Hazard during his second spell at Chelsea, praised his former player in a heartfelt message:
“Eden, many congratulations on joining the Premier League Hall of Fame. Everybody knows you belong there. You are one of the most amazing players I ever worked with, and of course you have to be there. Thank you for helping me win my last Premier League title.”
Hazard will be formally honoured alongside Gary Neville, another 2025 inductee at the official Premier League Hall of Fame ceremony on November 4.
Each recipient receives a medallion engraved with their name and year of induction, plus a £10,000 donation to a charity of their choice.
He now takes his place among football royalty, joining names such as David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, and Sir Alex Ferguson, in the pantheon of Premier League greatness.
