CAF Confederation Cup: We will do everything possible to eliminate Kwara United – Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito
Head coach of Asante Kotoko Abdul Karim Zito says his outfit will do everything possible to overcome Kwara United in the first preliminary round fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors returns to Africa for the first time since 2022 following their success in the Ghana FA Cup competition last season.
Kotoko will play host to Kwara United in the first leg between September 19 and 21 before traveling for the return fixture in Nigeria from September 26 to 28.
And according to Zito, who led Dreams FC to the semifinals of the same competition two seasons ago has affirmed his outfit readiness to triumph over Kwara United.
“Every club that qualifies to play in the competition is a good club. I met Kwara United during my stint with Dreams FC. It’s a tough fixture but we will do everything possible to eliminate them” he told the club’s media.
The Ghanaian giants are aiming to make a meaningful impact as they mark their return to the continental stage.
The Porcupine Warriors will face Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Casablanca in the second preliminary round if they are able to triumph over Kwara United.
The second preliminary round’s first leg is slated for October 17 and 19, with the decisive return fixture to be played between October 24 and 26.
