President Museveni and First Lady Janet apologized to Buganda and Ugandans for mistakes made during their 40-year leadership.
President of Uganda, Museveni has sent some strong message to Ugandans all over the world.
The long-standing president, alongside his wife Janet has apologized to citizens for any mistakes they made throughout the years they’ve been in power.

The apology was delivered during a program dubbed Light Up Uganda for Jesus Crusade which was at Kololo Independence Grounds.
The event was a religious event organized by their daughter, Pastor Patience Rwabwogo.
The couple acknowledged certain wrong decisions during their governance including negligence, and lack of diligence.
They are owning up to it and taking responsibility for errors made by themselves and their representatives.

They expressed remorse particularly toward Buganda, a politically and culturally significant region, citing issues like the slow return of kingdom properties and perceived marginalization.
The apology, framed in spiritual terms, called for national healing and reconciliation ahead of the 2026 general elections.
“We humbly take the responsibility of all the mistakes made by ourselves… We stand here to repent and ask for your forgiveness, especially the people of Buganda.” he said
