The Gabonese captain sealed the win with a composed finish following a sharp exchange with Matt O’Riley down the right flank, wrapping up an emphatic performance at the Stade Vélodrome.
Final tune-up before Nigeria clash
The fixture marked Aubameyang’s final outing for Marseille before joining Gabon’s national team ahead of their crucial World Cup playoff showdown with Nigeria on November 13 in Morocco.
The striker nearly scored earlier in the contest, expertly bringing down a lofted pass and attempting to lob Brest goalkeeper Radosław Majecki, though his effort went narrowly wide.
His late strike, however, ensured Marseille’s dominance and lifted the club to the top of the Ligue 1 standings.
